Current state
Build only The kryon-installer.iso (about 780 MiB) is produced by the build pipeline. It is deliberately not tracked in the repository, and there is no published download URL and no published checksum file — nothing has been released to a hosting endpoint.
Build the ISO
One command builds the pipeline, including the ISO:
# prerequisites on an Arch-derived host (base-devel + the wizard needs a display): sudo pacman -S base-devel freetype2 libpng gtk3 make # build the kryon-sync tool sudo ./kryon-sync iso
The sync step takes a few minutes and produces the ISO on the filesystem. Build requires root because mkarchiso writes to airootfs/. Output is about 780 MiB.
Verify the result
Because no checksum is published, verify by the filesystem check documented for the ISO: the rootfs is an EROFS image, so fsck.erofs on the ISO's loop device is the integrity check. See docs/installer-iso.md for the exact procedure.
Hardware requirements
To build: an Arch-derived host (this project's own host is CachyOS), base-devel, freetype2, libpng, gtk3, and enough space for an 800 MiB ISO plus the linux-kryon build tree.
To install: the installer refuses zram, loop, RAM and RAID/mapper devices, so use real hardware or a real virtual disk. Minimum 2048 MiB of disk; the installer runs wipefs --all --force on the target, so all data is destroyed.
The [kryon] pacman repository
Not deployed A Cloudflare Worker plus an R2 bucket are implemented in
cloudflare/so thatpacman -S linux-kryonwould work once the kernel packaging fork is published there. The bucket, the Worker and any hostname are configured only in code — no account, subdomain or hostname exists. Selectinglinux-kryonin the installer today therefore fails with "target not found" until someone deploys.
Next step
After you have the ISO: run sudo kryon-installer-tui or sudo kryon-installer and follow the guided installer.
